Light Fixture Installs in Coquitlam & the Tri-Cities
Replace an old or dated light fixture with a new one. I swap fixtures where the wiring is already in place. I don't add new circuits or new wiring.
What's included
- Replacing an existing ceiling or wall light with a new fixture
- Mounting the new fixture securely and levelling it
- Filling and touch-up painting around the old fixture if needed
- Old fixture removed, area cleaned up
- Quick check of the fit before I start, from your photos
How it works
- Send photos. The current fixture, the new fixture (or its box) and the ceiling or wall it's going on.
- Get a free quote. I'll tell you whether it's a straight swap, and stop by if I need to see it.
- Swapped and checked. I turn off the power at the breaker, swap the fixture, mount it and check that it works.
A few local things worth knowing
Older homes and some condos can have outdated or cramped wiring boxes, and heavier fixtures need a box rated to hold them. If I see anything that doesn't look right, I'll say so rather than install on it. Anything involving new wiring, new circuits or damaged wiring is a job for a licensed electrician.
Common questions
Can you add a new light where there isn't one?
No. That needs new wiring, which is a job for a licensed electrician. I swap fixtures where the wiring is already there.
Do I need to buy the fixture first?
Yes, usually you choose and buy it. Send me a photo or the product link before you buy, so we can check that it fits your ceiling or wall and the weight is fine.
What if the old wiring looks damaged?
I won't install on wiring I'm not comfortable with. In that case, call a licensed electrician first, then I'm happy to help with the finishing.
